Wadys Requirements
Wadys generate different types of electrical waste from their various electrical contracting services. This includes redundant fluorescent light tubes, light fittings, plastic lighting cases through to waste batteries. Wadys required a collection service to handle of the various types of waste generated and ensure they are recycled in accordance to the WEEE directive.
How we help Wadys
After an initial site visit from Pure Planet Recycling, Wadys received a complete WEEE recycling solution for their site in Bedford. Due to the volumes of electrical waste being produced, storage containers were required to contain it in a safe and tidy manner. We used the following containers to seperate out the material into hazardous and non hazardous waste on the customers site.
Our 1100 Litre WEEE bin allows for all types of mixed, small and non hazardous electrical waste to be safely stored before being collected. Upon collection we provide the duty of care waste paperwork satisfying the legal requirements, then once recycled we provide a recycling report detailing the waste for Wadys records.
In order to securely store the fluorescent light tubes that Wadys were generating a light tube coffin container was provided for the site. The storage container reduces the risk of the fluorescent light tubes being broken leaking the hazardous components contained within. Once full we simply exchange the container for an empty one, provide the hazardous waste paperwork and then recycle the waste once back at our licensed premises.
The Result
Wadys were provided with a solution for all of their electrical waste and storage containers to keep their site safe and tidy. This solution is still in place and works very effectively. For more information on Wadys and their electrical contracting services please see the Wadys website.
