For those not familiar with the term of "Upcycling", it is the process of converting waste product or material into new products or materials for reuse, giving it a new lease of life. We stumbled across a great example of upcycling recently online for the reuse of electrical waste, from Natasha Dzurny and her business TechnoChic. Natasha, based in New Jersey, United States, transforms old electrical waste into attractive and useful everyday items such as coasters and jewellery.
Pure Planet Recycling got in contact with Natasha to find our more on her upcycling and she gave us the following information and pictures of her creations;
It all started with a box of floppy disks that were too old to use, but too awesome to get rid of. One day, I had the idea to make them into coasters – I could showcase their awesomeness and make them useful too.
This geeky up-cycling looked quite chic on my coffee table – so Voila! – TechnoChic was born. Since then, I’ve been creating new ways to let my geek out – from up-cycling ipods into jewelry to innovating accessories that make your electronics better.
p>My goal is that each of my creations is loved by geek’s and totally chic.
